Happy Birthday Allison

Allison will be turning 1 year old on Thursday November 16th. It seems like times passes much quicker with the second child then the first. We had the time to sit and gaze at Luke for hours and enjoy his every move. Bruce and I tried to give Allison the same treatment but there always seemed to be another voice in the background calling for Mommy or Daddy's attention.

It is funny to think we thought one child was a challenge, two children we just consider busy. We have loved every moment this past year with Allison. She has done and seen so much and she will not even remember it.
Allison has been to Florida so see Uncle Matthew at school at PCC, she has had numerous car rides to the family cottage in the Muskoka's, gone swimming for the first time, she has eaten McDonald's french fries for the first time, cousin Kevin fed her chocolate ice cream for the first time at Becky and Brandon's wedding this past summer, she started crawling, and so much more!
Allison finally broke through her "1st" YES that was her "1st" tooth 1 week ago! She has endured the croupe 2 times last winter (a gift from her brother Luke, he likes to share colds but not his toys), she has gone through a recent period with a bad cough and runny nose (this is probably due to the tooth coming in). She still has the cough! Now she also has a blocked tear duct in her left eye, so her eye keeps watering.
Also much to our amazment Allison decided it was time for her to pull herself up on things around the house this past Friday night. Luke is horrified that all his toys are now something Allison can get into and enjoy. Allison is thrilled with her achievment and is constantly striving to reach more of Luke's toys in high places. Now the fun part with Luke is teaching him to share his toys with Allison and not to push her down while she is standing up. Poor Allison! I am sure she will endure many brusies from her brother trying to set her straight about who is "THE BOSS" in the toy department.
Over all it has been a great year for Allison and we are the proudest parents on the block with our two little ones. Our one and greatest prayer for Allison (and Luke) is that they will come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour one day and that Allison will live her life for the Lord. There is no greater gift then that for a child. Please pray for Allison when you think of it. This is greatest gift anyone could give her.
Children are a true pleasure and gift from the Lord. We need to remember that our children are the Lord's gift to us. Luke and Allison are our gifts and we love them very much! Happy 1st Birthday Allison!

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Allison
Happy Birthday to you!
