Grandma and Ban-ka
Kids say the strangest things.
We went to visit my parents today and Luke has always called my Dad "Ban-ka" this is Luke's version of Grandpa. It is a hoot to hear him calling Ban-ka whenever he sees my Dad. My parents live only 15 minutes from us so Luke loves to have visits with Ban-ka as often as possible (probably not as often as he would like though).
Today when we went to visit my parents for the morning Luke wanted to make sure Grandma knew he wanted grill cheese sandwishes for lunchtime. He kept saying to my Mom "Grilled cheese sandwich Grandma. Believe it or not he can pronounce Grandma just fine. Where Ban-ka came from is beyond me!?!?!
Luke's vocabulary is growing every day and he is a joy to listen to. Here are some of his new words/sentences:
Breakfast time
Lunch Time
Supper time
Luke...WAKE UP (he says this after he wakes up from his nap)
Luke is a mess
Luke in the brown van (this is our mini-van, you can guess what colour it is)
Luke go downstairs (he likes to talk in the 3rd person right now)
Allison talking
Allison WAKE UP (while she is sleeping in the van, he likes her to be awake so he can talk to her)
Train....Chew Chew (as we pass the train yard off Front Rd here in Windsor)
Airplane (as one flies over our house)
Daddy gone to work
Pizza party

I cannot wait until Rhys talks! He does say "buh-bye" and "uh-oh" and "hiiii" but that is it. He says Mama and da-dee, though not in reference to Michael and I. Mama means that he wants food of some sort and Da-dee usually means he wants something picked up for him. He also calls it when he is upset about what I am doing with him, usually changing his diaper or trying to dress him.
