Hayhoe BBQ

This past weekend we got together with my Mom's side of the family in Cambridge, Ontario....well to be exact my Uncle Paul and Aunt Dayle live in Glen Morris, Ontario which is just outside Cambridge. Uncle Paul and Aunt Dayle are so kind, every September they have our entire family over for a BBQ. Just so you understand how large we are....My Mom has 4 brothers and 1 sister, making that 6 siblings. PLUS all their kids and now grandkids. So as you can see this is a very large undertaking for my Uncle Paul and Aunt Dayle each year. Thank you for opening your home to us every year!

It is so nice to see my cousins and their kids and all my aunt and uncle's and to be able to take the time to catch up with them. Life gets so busy that is nice to take the time out to visit and enjoy time with your family.

We were not too sure if we were going to make it this past weekend, as Allison was very sick with a fever on Thursday and Friday of last week. She finally broke the fever early Saturday morning. Allison seemed to be in good spirits so we drugged her up and went on a 3 hour car ride to Glen Morris to see the Hayhoe fam. Allison was great the entire time we were there. The Lord is good! Allison seems to be doing much better now, however she still is on some antibiotics for a few more days.

Here are a few pictures from our time with our family.

This is my cousin's Brad wife Heidi and their daughter Claire and my Aunt Dayle. The hostess for the evening.

My cousin Brad with is little girl Claire and our Allison on the swing. Allison didn't want to get off she loves the motion of any swing.

I love this picture of Luke sitting on the trampoline.

Here is my cousin Glen and his girlfriend Natalie. Glen is trying on some old hockey equipment. Not too sure why, but it made a good picture.

This is Allison with her 2nd cousins Regan and Claire all in their PJ's. I think Allison and Claire could pass for sisters, they look so much alike.

Here is Allison playing with baby Samuel's chair. She is a bit big for it.

We had a surpirze baby shower for my cousin Kevin and his wife Katie for their daughter Abigail. Here is the their happy family.

I know what you are going to all say....

she did it again and forgot to BLOG. Well that is true however, we were having some computer problems/phone line problems for the month of August and we finally got them fixed...... so I am back!

Since I blogged last we have gone on vacation, Luke and Allison took some more swimming lessons and Bruce bought a boat and we went away for a weekend with our life group (small group) from church.
So here is the deal I am going to put up a few pictures from these events so you can see that we have been alive for the past month and a half. Sorry for the delay but Bell Canada caused us a few problems.

Bruce and Luke on the dock at the cottage. Bruce took a week off so we spent it at his parents cottage.

The boys jumping off the dock. I was in the paddle boat taking pictures of them jumping.

One day we went on an adventure with the kids....so we packed a lunch and searched (via boat)for a spot where we could have a picnic lunch together and hang out in the water. We found a super spot that people have used for camping in the past and there was tables to eat at and great beach for the kids to play in. It was super.

Here is Allison in the water were we found the amzing picnic play area for our family adventure.

We took the kids to Santa's Village one day on our vacation in Bracebridge. This is Luke and Allison on the ferris wheel.

This is just as we were entering Santa's village. They gave all kids that entered these lovely elf hats. Allison still wears her's around the house.

This was Luke's all time favorite ride at Santa's village. It was called Jumping Stars. It was like a drop zone for kids. He went on this ride at least 10 times during the course of the day.

Luke also loved the roller coaster. Here is Luke and Daddy in the front seat of the roller coaster. Luke laughed the entire ride. Now Allison did get on all the rides as well except Jumping Stars and the roller coaster. We did not forget about her. There was just too many pictures from that day to put on our BLOG.

Here is Luke with his elf hat on as we head home from Santa's village.

Another day of our vacation was going to visit my Uncle Art and Aunt Joy at their cottage. They were kind enough to take us all for a boat ride and buy us ice cream. Here is Bruce and Luke on the boat ride in Uncle Art's boat on Lake Joseph in the Muskokas.

Allison and I on the boat ride.

Uncle Art and Aunt Joy on their dock watching Luke and Bruce swim.

Uncle Art was kind enough to take Bruce for a water ski....Bruce was in Heaven!

Luke in his last swimming class of the summer. He did not pass this class but he now jumps off the diving board and can swim a bit on his own. He did a super job. Allison took lessons as well with me in the pool. She can also jump off the side of the pool now. There was great improvements in both our kids this summer with their swimming lessons.

Bruce's new boat. Well new to us that is. Bruce found this boat on the internet and picked it up a few weekends ago. It needs a bit of work, but he did a really good job finding it.

We look forward to use it more next summer.

Our small group that went away this past wekeend to Tunder Beach for a weekend getaway and a kick off to our fall season.
