A very HOT Thanksgiving weekend
This past weekend was very hot here. The heat started on Wednesday afternoon and it just broke last night. Now I know what you are thinking...how hot was it really? Well we hit 34 degrees on Sunday afternoon. When you walked outside you just started to sweat. It was like a July afternoon in October. This heat wave lasted 4-5 days.
We had a great weekend, even though Bruce did not get Monday off seeing that he works the States. Saturday we went for a boat ride on the Detroit river in our boat and I totally forgot to bring our camera. It was a pretty exciting boat ride. We went under the Ambassador Bridge that leads from Windsor to Detroit and we saw many huge lake freighters, Luke thought they were great!
On Sunday we went to church and then we came home and BBQ our lunch and ate outside. The kids were so hot we put them in their bathing suits and they went through the sprinkler in our back yard, it was nuts.....this is October not July! Luke and Allison had a great time cooling down together.
Then on Sunday night a friend of ours had a 30th birthday party in Harrow (about 1/2 outside of Windsor). They had tons of stuff for the kids to do. Their was bobbing for apples, a scavenger hunt, party favours and a great meal.
The heat just broke last night and we could finally turn our air conditioning off and open our windows. It was a great weekend. I trust you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend as well. Our family has much to be thankful for.
Here are some pictures from our weekend.
Luke and Allison having a very refreshing afternoon in the sprinkler.
Luke, Allison, Carter and Keria enjoying the bucket of apples.
Allison enjoying the kids roasting pan version of bobbing for apples.
Luke's version of bobbing for apples. When we told Luke he had to pick the apples up with his mouth and teeth from the bucket, he just picked up the apple out of the water with his hands and put the apple in his mouth and took a bite and then threw it back in the bucket and yells " I DID IT" It was so funny!
Luke and Allison together.
Allison with her party blower. I love this picture, she looks like she has Scooby Do's nose. So cute!
It took Luke a little bit to understand how to blow into the party blower to make the tongue pop out. Once he figured it out he had a blast.
My great and good looking hubby!

Hi Kiddo
Love your pics - especially of Luke & Allison playing in the sprinkler. Brings back so many memories for me. Thanksgiving weekend was super hot here also - 34 degrees. We were wishing we hadn't closed the pool. Considered climbing the neighbours fence and slipping into theirs (theirs is open and they are away) We didn't do it though. lol
The playhouse and picnic table are great and I can see that Luke and Allison are lovin' them!
You all take care - enjoy the fall weather - and we look forward to seeing you at Christmas! xo
